Ruthellen S. Rubin, CFRE has over seventeen years of experience in all aspects of fundraising as a member of several nonprofit and institutional boards and also professionally as a fundraiser and marketing specialist. As President of Development Consultant for the Nonprofit Sector, Ruthellen works personally with a variety of nonprofits and philanthropic entities to help grow their development initiatives with consistency and sustainability. She has a Masters Degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Recently, as Director of Development for HomeFront, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides programs and services for the homeless in Mercer County, NJ, she was responsible for a comprehensive development and marketing initiative overseeing all aspects of private fundraising from individuals, corporations and foundations.

As a development consultant, she works with nonprofits to help them measure and articulate their own special contribution to the community and to direct them to resources that generate the funding they need to effectively fulfill their mission. Working with development professionals and boards of directors, Ruthellen helps to create individualized fundraising programs that are affordable and sustainable. She also facilitates customized workshops and retreats for organizations and boards.

Ruthellen helps corporations and businesses identify nonprofit partners who share their missions and ideals. Her approach is personal and is customized to help identify areas of community need. She helps to create strategic giving programs and builds strong partnerships by improving the lines of communication between the corporate world and the nonprofit sector.

A talented teacher and versatile presenter, Ruthellen is a frequent workshop facilitator for The Support Center for Nonprofit Management in New York City. Recent workshops include: Building Corporate Support; Building the Case for a Meaningful Annual Gift; Finding the Funder-Perfecting the Proposal-Getting the Grant; Prospecting: Resources and Tools for Building Relationships and Loyalty; and Creating and Sustaining a Fundraising Board. Ruthellen is on the faculty at New York University's George H. Heyman, Jr. Center for Fundraising and Philanthropy. She currently teaches The Annual Appeal and Technology for Fundraising in the Certificate Program and Your Strategic Technology Plan and Informed Fundraising in the Masters Degree program.
